🚨 THE AI REPORT PODCAST: NEW EPISODE DROPS TOMORROW! 🚨
The latest episode of the AI Report podcast drops tomorrow, where Liam interviews Nicholas Verity, The CEO of Cleverly (which uses AI to land leads and meetings on LinkedIn) about the limitations of AI in sales, using AI to manage high client volume, and the evolution of lead generation, thanks to AI.
📈 AI STOCK TRACKER
The US tech sector experienced a significant rally, with the Nasdaq Composite rising 1.4%, driven by gains in major companies such as NVIDIA and Tesla, following the Federal Reserve's decision to maintain current interest rates and signal potential rate cuts later this year.
LATEST IN AI
🚨 Our Report — OpenAI is facing yet another privacy complaint from the European privacy advocacy group—Nyob—after ChatGPT produced incorrect, “defamatory,” and potentially damaging information about a Norweigan user.
🔓 Key Points:
Norwegian user, Arve Hjalmar Holmen, was horrified to discover that ChatGPT returned false information, incorrectly claiming that he’d been convicted of murder and sentenced to years in prison.
Noyb has since filed a complaint that ChatGPT has violated the EU’s General Data Protection Regulation (GDPR), arguing that “Personal data has to be accurate..if it’s not, users have the right to have it changed.”
This is the 2nd complaint they’ve raised about ChatGPT’s hallucinations, believing that showing users a “ChatGPT can make mistakes” disclaimer isn’t good enough, nor is offering to block certain responses.
🔐 Relevance — If OpenAI is found guilty of breaching GDPR laws, it could face penalties of up to 4% of its global, annual turnover and could also be forced to change its AI models, as it found in 2023 when an Italian data protection watchdog temporarily blocked ChatGPT and fined it €15M for processing data without proper consent.
TOGETHER WITH ARAGON.AI
Start the year strong with a stunning headshot that will improve your personal brand and help you land more job opportunities and clients.
Don't waste hundreds of $$$ on an in-person photoshoot. Just upload six photos of yourself to get 100 incredible headshots.
Backed by top investors, Aragon's proprietary AI models generate the most realistic headshots on the market.
In fact, in a study done with 1,087 recruiters, 76.5% preferred Aragon.ai's headshots to people's existing photos!
Have employees? Headshots also make the perfect gift for Employee Appreciation Month!
"I loved all the headshots so much I couldn't decide which I liked best LOL! I tried other AI programs for headshots, and they didn't come out as well. Highly recommend if you are on the fence." - Alex Dunstan, USA
"These AI-generated headshot photos are gorgeous! I’m blown away by this technology! Way cheaper and easier than hiring a photographer! Just do it…you will not regret it." - Joanna W, USA
🚨 Our Report — A US policy group (the Joint California Policy Working Group on AI Frontier Models) which is co-led by Fei-Fei Li—the Godmother of AI—has released a first-draft, 41-page report calling for AI regulation policymakers to consider AI risks that “have not yet been observed in the world.”
🔓 Key Points:
Governor Gavin Newsom (who vetoed the controversial SB 1047 AI safety bill last year) led the initiative, after acknowledging that, despite dismissing SB 1047, legislators needed a more detailed assessment of AI risks.
The report campaigns for regulations that would require tech companies to disclose what they are building and submit their safety tests, data-acquisition practices, and security measures.
It also calls for better standards for the evaluation of safety and company policies by third parties, and increased whistleblower protections for employees and contractors working for AI firms.
🔐 Relevance — While the final version of the report will not arrive until June, it’s already been well-received by experts—even those who fear too much regulation will stifle innovation and harm America’s competitive edge in the global AI race—believing it’s a promising step forward for AI safety regulation and builds upon “conversations around AI governance that began in 2024.”
After “getting many requests from our developer community,” OpenAI has launched o1-pro which uses more computing than o1 “to think harder” and provide “consistently better” responses to complex problems.
OpenAI is so convinced that o1-pro’s improved performance means developers will willingly pay $150 for every 750,000 words they input into the model, which is 2x the price of GPT-4.5 and 10x the price of o1.
However, early testers found that it struggled with math puzzles and jokes, and internal benchmarks revealed that it performed just slightly better than o1 on math and coding problems, although it was more reliable.
