đ˘Â This weekâs AI Report podcast episode is live: Catch Liam talking to Nick Verity (CEO of Cleverly and Partner at Axe Automation) about how AI is reshaping lead generation and outbound sales.Â
Just a week after Apple announced further delays to the highly anticipated revamped AI-powered Siri (now expected in 2026) because development was taking âlonger than expectedâ (which has subsequently triggered a lawsuit for false advertising as Apple device owners havenât received the AI features they were promised), CEO Tim Cook is replacing the head of SiriâJohn Giannandreaâafter losing confidence in his ability to lead AI development.
The head of Vision Pro developmentâMike Rockwellâwill replace Giannandrea as the leader of AI and Siri, with Rockwell's deputy, Paule Meade, taking over as head of the Vision Pro Group.
While the Vision Pro VR headset wasnât the hit Apple expected, thereâs confidence within the company that Rockwell knows how to use his technical experience to get products commercialized.
Although Giannandrea will remain in the company and reportedly continue his AI research and testing initiatives, many are questioning if Cook is keeping him, just to prevent a loss of confidence in the company.
The multiple Siri and Apple intelligence issues, delays, and setbacks have raised concerns thatâsince Cook took over from Steve Jobs as CEO, in 2001âproduct innovation has significantly suffered, with the pioneering tech company struggling to keep up with its competitors, although some think that Cook has managed to hold the company together, after many expected it to fall to pieces after Jobs left, and has âmaintained its emotional core, engaged its loyalists and achieved significant success.â
The AI consulting market is about to grow by a factor of 8X â from $6.9B to $54.7B in 2032.

After a year of regulatory battles with European privacy authorities, Meta is finally bringing a knocked-back version of its Meta AI chatbot to 41 European countries and 21 regions outside of Europe (including the UK) in 6 European languages (English, French, Spanish, Portuguese, German, and Italian), integrating it into WhatsApp, Instagram, Messenger, and Facebook.
Meta AI has been live in the US since 2023 and is capable of answering questions, generating images, and creating stylized selfies across all of Metaâs social platforms, but European users will not get all these features.
Meta AI in Europe will be restricted to just text-based chat featuresâhelping users âbrainstorm ideas, plan a trip, or answer specific questionsââbut it will not be able to generate/edit images or answer questions about photos.
Although Meta AI will answer usersâ questions, it will just use web-based information to deliver its responses, without accessing first-party data from EU users (a key bone of contention for EU regulators).
After Meta launched Meta AI in the US it expected to bring it to Europe the same year but was forced to pause the launch after facing pushback from EU regulators who were concerned over how Meta was processing its users' data for trainingâbelieving an onerous âopt-outâ process didnât comply with GDPR lawsâand demanded Meta rethink its approach, hence why the European version doesnât leverage first-party user data in its responses.
Anthropicâs AI chatbot, Claude, can now search the web, bringing it in-line with rivals whoâve already launched AI-powered web search features, including OpenAIâs ChatGPT, Googleâs Gemini, and Mistralâs Le Chat.
Web search is currently just available on the latest modelâClaude 3.7 Sonnetâas a âfeature previewâ for paying US users but Anthropic plans to expand access to other countries in the ânext couple of weeks.â
The feature pulls data from the internet and adds citations so users can fact-check sources, however, a recent study found that AI-powered chatbots, with search features, incorrectly answer over 60% of questions.
