Altman Builds “World Coin” To Differentiate AI From Humans

Our Report: Sam Altman (OpenAI CEO) recently launched Worldcoin—a global initiative to differentiate AI from humans through a ‘Global ID’ attained via eyeball scans.

🔑 Key Points:

1. Worldcoin wants to establish an "identity and financial network" with a digital ID to help users confirm their human identity online.

2. Since the project's inception over the last two years, Worldcoin claims to have assigned IDs to over 2M people from 120 countries.

3. Critics label Worldcoin's data collection as a "privacy nightmare" as Worldcoin's privacy policy permits data sharing with subcontractors and potential access by government entities.

4. The Worldcoin tokens, which were given as an incentive for the scans, were trading for approximately $2.30 on Binance

🎵 Spotify teases new AI features

After recently introducing their AI-powered DJ feature (which offers curated music with AI commentary), Ek hinted at more contextual, personalized AI features.

📉 Microsoft shares drop after AI demand slows

Microsoft's shares dropped after its earnings report showed a deceleration in Azure's revenue growth, even though overall revenue of $56.2bn surpassed Wall Street's expectations. 

Despite advancements in AI technology, investments, and partnerships with companies like OpenAI and Meta, the reduced growth of Azure dampened investor sentiment.

⚠️ Anthropic CEO warns US Senators on AI danger

Anthropic's CEO Dario Amodei, warned US senators about the near-term potential of AI surpassing human intelligence and its use in creating weapons.

He stresses regulating AI to prevent biases, long-term risks, and potential misuse. Amodei advocates for rigorous AI system tests, secured supply chains, and setting standards for AI companies.
