📈 AI STOCK TRACKER
The markets saw the tech-heavy Nasdaq Composite rise by 1.5%, driven by gains in major technology stocks from the likes of NVIDIA, Apple, and Tesla, likely due to President Trump's announcement of a plan for reciprocal tariffs on US trading partners.
LATEST IN AI
🚨 Our Report — OpenAI has taken away the ‘orange-box’ warnings that flag when content ChatGPT produces might violate its terms-of-service.
🔓 Key Points:
This change aims to reduce instances where ChatGPT unexplainably refuses to answer queries, allowing users to “use ChatGPT as they see fit” (as long as they aren’t breaking the law or causing harm to themselves or others).
OpenAI has also updated its 63-page Model Spec (a set of rules that govern its models) to give models more freedom to respond to sensitive topics and reduce bias by stopping them from rejecting specific perspectives.
Although ChatGPT has freedom to respond to sensitive/controversial topics, revenge porn and deepfakes are still banned and it will still refuse to answer objectional questions or support falsehoods (eg. why’s the Earth flat?).
🔐 Relevance — Experts believe that OpenAI has done this in response to political pressure, as President Trump and many of his high-profile, close allies—including Elon Musk and his crypto and AI czar, David Sacks—have criticized AI chatbots, specifically ChatGPT, for being “programmed to be woke” with its overly-cautious responses and heavy censorship of certain viewpoints and sensitive topics, particularly around politics.
TOGETHER WITH ACRES
Everywhere you look, AI is moving markets. Palantir saw its stock surge 340% in 2024, and NVIDIA's stock skyrocketed 171% - but those gains are already history.
What if you could invest in the next AI disruptor before it makes headlines for explosive growth?
That’s the advantage of Acres Technology. Founded by Hall of Fame gaming innovator John Acres, their AI anticipates exactly what players want - right when they want it - boosting customer value by 3X in a $108.5B market.
Gambling resorts spend billions on advertising and rewards to drive repeat visits. With Acres, they no longer have to.
No wonder 30 major operators are already using it, with industry-wide adoption growing 23% year over year and international markets on the horizon.
But time is running out – the round closes in less than a month. Secure your stake in this rapidly growing AI startup while you can.

🚨 Our Report — AI start-up, Anthropic, is reportedly launching a new, innovative “hybrid” AI model—which could sit within the existing family of Claude AI models—in the next few weeks that will be able to switch between “deep reasoning” and quick responses.
🔓 Key Points:
The new model can mobilize more computational power when deep reasoning is needed for more complex problems, and less when it’s processing simple tasks, quickly, like traditional Large Language Models.
It does this via a “sliding scale” which gives users precise control over the amount of computational resource the model uses when processing queries, giving them flexibility with cost/speed/performance.
Early tests show that its coding capabilities exceed OpenAI’s recently released reasoning model—o3-mini—and it reportedly excels at analyzing large codebases and other business-related benchmarks.
🔐 Relevance — Anthropic’s main rival, OpenAI, does have a similar control method, but instead of a sliding scale, users can choose from three fixed settings—low, medium, or high—to control how much computational resource is used, but some have reported that it’s not precise enough and it’s difficult to estimate the cost of a single query, whereas Anthropics sliding scale will give greater precision and control, which will be ideal for their Enterprise customers.
The full, formal letter of intent from Elon Musk, to buy OpenAI for $97.4B, has been released with some new details that have given some further insight into this messy, ongoing dispute.
OpenAI has until May 10th to decline/accept (it’s expected they’ll decline), if accepted, 100% of the $97.4B will be paid with banknotes, but Musk will demand full examination of “assets, facilities, equipment, and records.”
This is normal due diligence, but OpenAI’s concern is that this will give Musk and his AI start-up competitor, xAI, access to sensitive information, and could give him a reason to withdraw…along with OpenAI’s secrets.

QUICK HITS
FRIDAY’S Q&A
Each week, our team of AI experts chooses one subscriber question to answer, to help us all learn how to navigate the complex world of AI.
THIS WEEKS QUESTION:
“As banks increasingly adopt AI for risk assessment, fraud detection, and customer engagement, how can they balance the drive for hyper-personalization with the ethical implications of algorithmic bias and privacy concerns?”
THIS WEEKS ANSWER:
The answer lies in implementing fair, transparent processes, systems, policies, and features that are focused on protecting the privacy of consumer data.
For example, institutions could use diverse training data, conduct bias audits, and use human oversight to mitigate any potential algorithmic bias.
They could employ privacy-preserving techniques—like data anonymization—to help protect customer data, while benefiting from AI-driven insights that can drive hyper-personalized features.
Publishing AI ethics frameworks, collaborating with regulators, showing regulatory compliance (e.g. GDPR), and continuously monitoring AI systems, processes, and policies will build trust and ensure AI is deployed responsibly and ethically.
Finally, a hybrid approach—combining AI automation with human intervention—when making critical decisions, will help these companies maintain fairness while delivering personalized services.
