Our Report: OpenAI has released a memory feature that will enable ChatGPT to remember past conversations so users don't have to repeat information during chats; useful for generating the right formatting preferences for content.
🔑 Key Points:
Users can now tell ChatGPT to remember something, for example, if you like bulleted meeting notes with actions at the end, ChatGPT will remember and summarize meetings this way.
Users will have to ask ChatGPT to delete a memory (or update the settings) because memories aren’t linked to specific conversations, so deleting a chat won’t erase it.
Plus, users can also turn this feature off or use ‘temporary chat’ if they want to converse with ChatGPT with a blank slate (these chats won't appear in history and won't use memory).
These memory controls are being rolled out to a small number of ChatGPT free and paid users this week, with plans for a broader roll-out coming soon.
🤨 Why you should care: OpenAI has declared that it “may use content (Team and Enterprise customers excluded), including memories, to improve models for everyone” which is raising concerns over data privacy and security.

NVIDIA has released a demo of its AI-powered chatbot (called “Chat with RTX”) that can run locally on a Windows PC. It is free for users on Windows 11 with over 16GB of storage.
It doesn’t have a knowledge base (like ChatGPT), so it can only summarize and answer questions about documents, files, or videos stored locally on a PC.
Plus, it also struggles to understand context and doesn’t consider previous questions when asked a follow-up question, so every prompt must be new each time.
NVIDIA has released the demo chatbot to show what an AI chatbot can do locally, on a PC, to offer users an alternative to subscription chatbots like Copilot Pro or ChatGPT Plus.

In November, Airbnb acquired GamePlanner (launched by Siri’s co-founder) which it plans to use to leverage generative AI and provide users with a more personalized experience.
As part of this, Airbnb plans to build an app that will act as the ‘’ultimate concierge’’ with an adaptive interface, that evolves and changes in real-time.
They know that AI systems can return false information (which would cause the new model to fail) so they aren’t sharing more details, but will announce more AI developments this year.
Otter—the AI-powered meeting assistant that transcribes audio calls, in real-time—is launching a new set of AI tools for meetings called “Meeting GenAI.”
The toolset includes features that will relay information about past meetings, let users ask questions about past meetings, and provide meeting summaries.
These tools have been designed to replace AI features offered by the likes of Microsoft Copilot and Zoom AI with the end goal of having Otter actively participate in meetings.
Users can access Otter’s new features via any device, for free, and rest assured that it won’t use their data to train its AI, although users can contribute their recordings via an opt-in basis.
Following announcements that ex-Salesforce exec (Bret Taylor) had teamed up with ex-Google engineer (Clay Bavor), reports now show they’ve built a conversational AI model (called Sierra).
Sierra will be a customer service bot that will answer queries, problem-solve, make decisions, and take action on a customer’s behalf, like upgrading their subscription.
It will connect to systems (like customer databases and order management systems) to perform tasks autonomously and is already being used by brands including SiriusXM, and Sonos.

Hi everyone yes, I left OpenAI yesterday. First of all nothing "happened" and it’s not a result of any particular event, issue or drama (but please keep the conspiracy theories coming as they are highly entertaining :)).
