Xiaomi (yes, the Android smartphone developer) has just announced their move in to the EV car market with the Xiaomi SU7 series (strikingly similar to the Tesla design), featuring HyperOSāan innovative operating system designed to seamlessly integrate users' homes, cars, and mobile devices.
Xiaomi's foray into the EV market, particularly with its integrated technology ecosystem, presents potential competition for established players like Teslaāespecially considering Tesla's fluctuating popularity in China (market share shrank by 2.8% in September alone).
Amazon has repurposed itās home robot for corporate use by introducing Astro for Businessāan alterd version of the robot, serving as a security guard for small- and medium-sized businesses.
This version will feature enhanced capabilities like multiple security monitoring routes and alerts for specific sounds such as smoke and carbon monoxide alarms or glass breaking, and starts with a price tag of $2439.99. No small price tag but I imagine it pales in comparison to a full-time 24/7 security guard.
Tencent (leading Chinese tech company) has strategically stockpiled multiple generations worth of NVIDIAs H800 AI chips, ensuring its AI development remains unaffected by recent US export controls (Biden signed an order last month, citing national security concerns).
Despite the restrictions, many major Chinese tech/AI companiesāincluding Baidu, Kuaishou Technology, and 01AIāmade the move to stockpile AI chips before the ban was put it in place.
