Stability AI (the UK firm behind the AI model Stable Diffusion) is considering a sale amid (multiple ongoing) controversies involving its CEO, Emad Mostaque, with multiple executives leaving due to disputes over using copyrighted content and questions over Mostaque's leadership.
To add fuel to the fire, Stability AI faces industry-wide scrutiny for its stance on 'fair use' in AI (they’ve been caught blatantly using copyrighted material).
Google DeepMind has made a significant breakthrough in AI by predicting the structure of over 2M new materials, highlighting that nearly 400,000 of these materials are expected to be replicable in lab conditions soon.
This innovation could lead to enhancements in batteries, solar panels, and computer chips, accelerating material discovery and reducing the traditionally lengthy and expensive process of developing new materials.
Tola Capital (a VC firm focusing on enterprise software) has raised a new $230M fund to invest in early-stage AI companies and aims to capitalize on the growing demand for AI in enterprise environments.
The firm believes AI's transformative potential in enterprise software is immense, and this fund is dedicated to exploring and enhancing AI's role in this sector. This move signals strong market confidence in AI, and funding shows no sign of slowing down.
