Our Report: President Biden has issued an Executive Order on Safe, Secure, and Trustworthy AI to balance national security with consumer rights—creating some of the first international guardrails that could be fortified by global legislation.
🔑 Key Points:
The Order mandates comprehensive actions across various sectors, from requiring stringent safety tests for powerful AI systems to establishing an advanced cybersecurity program (full list here).
Notably, it requires AI developers to share safety results, and the National Institute of Standards and Technology to create standards to ensure AI tools are safe and secure before public release.
Furthermore, It emphasizes the importance of protecting Americans' privacy and supporting consumers by requiring The Commerce Department to label all AI-generated content to protect the mental health of US consumers.
Lastly, the act encourages responsible innovation, competition, and entrepreneurship by building upon previous commitments from 15 big-tech companies (OpenAI, Microsoft, X & more).
🤨 Why you should care: The Executive Order highlights the US government’s commitment to supporting the safe development of AI systems; hopefully striking the balance between supporting entrepreneurship/competition and protecting citizens from potential pitfalls.

I am really starting to like Midjourney's "weird" parameter. While barely predictable, it can cause some super unique effects.
I applied to one of the POLARIS prompts and it added this unique, almost isometric perspective.

ChatGPT's mobile app revenue is steadily increasing, with 23M, and 38M active users as of September, but they’re still being outperformed in revenue by generic AI applications. Here’s where they fit among competitors (September rev):
ChatGPT—$1.98M
Chat/AskAI—$3.38M
ChatOn—$2.21M
It’s unlikely the OpenAI team will face similar woes in the future as they continue to capitalize on their reputation, but it’s super interesting to see that other generic AI apps have monetized quicker and more substantially.
The UK government has launched a £100M AI Life Sciences fund aiming to accelerate AI applications in life sciences to address major health challenges, including incurable diseases.
The fund will facilitate testing within the next 18 months and aims to transform mental health research (with a focus on degenerative diseases such as dementia). AI in medicine continues to be one of the most promising applications of the technology—Are you excited about what we can achieve with AI X medicine?
A crypto billionaire (Jed Caleb, co-founder of XRP)’s nonprofit—the Navigation Fund—has invested $500M in NVIDIAs H100 GPUs in an effort to lease AI computing capacity at low costs, addressing the AI chip shortage and aiding AI projects.
With 24,000 H100 chips, the Navigation Fund plans to establish clusters in Texas, Virginia, and Washington to provide access to top-of-the-line AI chips at a fraction of the cost, aiding development and entrepreneurship within the industry.
