The current market is fluctuating as Apple, AMD, TSM, and Meta all gained, while Microsoft, Alphabet, and Amazon saw slight declines, and Tesla plunged 6.3% amid reports of Elon Musk’s $97B bid for OpenAI.
LATEST IN AI
🚨 Our Report — Apple has partnered with the Chinese tech giant, Alibaba, to bring its Apple Intelligence features to iPhones in China, choosing to work with a Chinese firm rather than launch the AI features independently, to speed up China’s strict regulatory approval processes.
🔓 Key Points:
Apple and Alibaba have (reportedly) already submitted the AI features they co-developed to Chinese regulators—which may include smarter Siri responses, improved search capabilities, and better personalization options.
China is Apple’s second-largest market (after the US) and CEO Tim Cook believes the lack of AI features is why iPhone sales in China have recently declined by 11%, leaving domestic providers (ie. Huawei) to fill the gap.
Apple initially considered (but rejected) partnering with Chinese search giant Baidu, TikTok owner ByteDance, and AI start-up DeepSeek (before its explosive US debut), deciding it didn’t have the workforce or experience.
🔐 Relevance — Despite others not being able to support its major China plans, Apple chose Alibaba because it has collected a huge amount of Chinese consumer data—including insights into shopping, payments, and general online behavior—which will help it bring more personalized features to Chinese iPhone users.
TOGETHER WITH INNOVATING WITH AI
The AI consulting market is about to grow by a factor of 8X – from $6.9B to $54.7B in 2032.
But how does an AI enthusiast become an AI consultant?
How well you answer that question makes the difference between just “having AI ideas” and being handsomely compensated for your contribution to an organization’s AI transformation.
Thankfully, you don’t have to go it alone – our friends at Innovating with AI have welcomed 300 new students into The AI Consultancy Project, their new program that trains you to build a business as an AI consultant.
Some of the highlights current students are excited about:

🚨 Our Report — Following yesterday’s bombshell news that Elon Musk wants to buy OpenAI’s non-profit arm (which governs OpenAI) for $97.4B—after recently slapping the startup with a lawsuit in an attempt to prevent it from transitioning into a for-profit organization—CEO Sam Altman has further dismissed Musk’s proposal (after informally saying “no thanks” on Musks’ social media platform, X), calling it a mere “attempt to slow us down.”
🔓 Key Points:
The decision isn’t Altman’s alone, but it’s expected that OpenAI’s board of directors will also formally reject Musk’s proposal, although they haven’t yet received “anything official” from Musk.
In a memo designed to reassure staff, Altman dismissed Musk as simply "a competitor who is not able to beat us in the market” and instead, is trying to buy his way to the top, with “total disregard for the mission."
When the board receives Musks’ proposal, they’ll be legally obligated to review it because their duty—as a non-profit—is to make decisions for the benefit of the public, which will be approved by the state’s Attorney General.
🔐 Relevance — Legal experts think that Musk’s proposal “is throwing a spanner into the works” and is aimed at slowing down OpenAI’s progress towards becoming a for-profit organization: “He’s exploiting the fiduciary obligation of the nonprofit board to not undersell the asset,” meaning OpenAI’s board will have to prove that they aren’t underselling its assets and fully assess whether the proposal aligns with the nonprofit’s mission—to ensure that artificial general intelligence benefits all of humanity—not just specific monetary or strategic goals.
At the AI global summit in Paris this week, the US and the UK refused to sign an international agreement that pledges an "open", "inclusive" “sustainable,” and "ethical" approach to AI development.
61 other countries—including France, China, and India—signed it, but the UK declined over concerns about security and "global governance," which many think will harm its credibility for ethical and trustworthy AI innovation.
America’s decision was primarily driven by concerns that the declaration was overly precautionary, as VP JD Vance stated “American AI will not be co-opted into a tool for authoritarian censorship.”
